Originally from Rome, Georgia, Quinton Wood, founder of Wood Elite Skillz Training, started playing basketball at the age of 6 and fell in love with the game instantly. A graduate of Coosa High School in Rome, Quinton played basketball all 4 years there and led his team in scoring his senior season. Averaging 18 points per game, he became an All-Area selection.
Quinton played his freshman year of college at Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, Tennessee. After one year he would transfer to Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa where he redshirted and took time to get ahead academically and improve his basketball game. After one year in Iowa Quinton transferred back to his home state of Georgia to Chattahoochee Tech College in Marietta to play his sophomore season. Averaging 10ppg he became a key player for the team.
Quinton finished his last two seasons of collegiate basketball at Reinhardt University where he was an All-Conference selection as a junior and senior, as well as an All-American his senior season averaging 22ppg , 5apg, and scoring 1200 points in just two seasons.
After college, Quinton signed with Dynasty Sports Management Agency out of Detroit, Michigan. While under the sports agency Quinton was able to experience many professional opportunities such as the NBA Development League, semiprofessional in Atlanta and Florida, and the CIBACOPA which is a professional league in Mexico. Quinton's last professional offer came in April of 2016 to go to Bolivia and play but unfortunately he had to turn down the offer due to family.
Quinton began training kids after he graduated college in 2014. In between professional opportunities he became very passionate about it and began to put a lot of his time and energy into it. Quinton has worked with nearly 100 kids in the local area including collegiate and professional athletes as well.
